Common Juniper 'Gold Cone'

Common Juniper 'Gold Cone' (Juniperus communis 'Gold Cone') is a graceful and vivid evergreen coniferous shrub that will become a true gem of any garden thanks to its unique cone-shaped form and rich golden-yellow foliage.

Main characteristics of the cultivar

• Crown shape and habit: Narrow, dense, cone-shaped or columnar. The branches are numerous, thin, directed vertically upwards and pressed tightly to the trunk, forming a compact crown with a clear silhouette.
• Colour and texture of the needles: The needles are needle-like, short and stiff. They have a rich golden-yellow colour. Young growth in spring and summer is bright, lemon-yellow, and by winter takes on a more restrained, greenish-yellow tint. In shade the colour becomes less intense.
• Growth rate: Relatively slow. The annual growth is about 10-15 cm in height and 5-7 cm in width.
• Dimensions: At 10 years of age it reaches approximately 1.5-2 m in height and 1-1.5 m in width. A mature plant can grow up to 3 m tall and 1-1.5 m in diameter.
