Flowering and foliage

• Flowers: shaped like elongated bells of a rich ruby-red colour with a darker centre. They densely cover the shoots, looking very striking against the greenery.
• Foliage: a classic emerald-green colour, elongated and dense. It stays fresh throughout the season, creating a lush backdrop for the inflorescences.
• Period: abundant main flowering falls at the end of May — June. A repeat, less massive flowering is often observed at the end of summer.

Size and shape

• Size: this is a powerful, fast-growing shrub that usually reaches 2–2.5 metres in height and up to 2 metres in diameter.
• Shape: the shoots initially grow upright, but with age they gracefully arch towards the ground, giving the bush a spreading and harmonious form.

• Soil: likes fertile, well-drained and moderately moist soils. The plant is fairly tolerant of urban conditions.
