Anglojap Yew 'Hicksii'

One of the best cultivars for tall hedges. It has a strict vertical form.

• Appearance: A tall shrub with straight, stiff shoots. The crown shape is narrowly columnar when young, becoming broader over time. The height of a mature plant is 3–4 m, the width — up to 2 m.
• Needles: Glossy, dark green, flat, up to 3 cm long.
• Fruit: On female specimens bright red berries (arils) appear, adding ornamental value in autumn.
• Conditions: The most shade-tolerant of the conifers, but it also grows superbly in the sun. It needs fertile, moist soils. It does not tolerate waterlogging or acidic soils.
• Care: It tolerates clipping and shaping very well. Fully frost-hardy.
