• Appearance: A robust shrub (1.3–1.5 m) with large (up to 15 cm) textured foliage.
• Colour: A true chameleon. In spring the foliage is purple-red, in summer — green, in autumn — gold-orange.
• Flowering: Small pink inflorescences in July. Often cut off for the sake of the beauty of the foliage.
• Light: Only sun (in shade it loses its bright colours).
• Soil: Undemanding, but likes moderate moisture and drainage.
• Care: Needs hard pruning in spring (down to 20 cm from the ground). This stimulates the growth of the largest and brightest foliage.
