Japanese Azalea 'Signalglühen'

Japanese Azalea 'Signalglühen' — the cultivar name translates as "Signal Glow", which perfectly describes its incredibly bright, almost neon flowering.

Key characteristics:

• Flowers: Large, broadly bell-shaped, a rich red-orange colour, which from a distance appears to be ablaze.
• Flowering: End of May – June; it blooms exceptionally intensely and for a long time.
• Dimensions: Height up to 60–80 cm, width up to 100 cm; the crown is dense and semi-spherical.
• Foliage: Small, dark green, glossy; in autumn it takes on a beautiful dark-red tint.
• Conditions: Requires acidic soil (pH 4.5–5.5), sheltered partial shade and regular watering.
• Frost resistance: High (down to -24°C); it overwinters well in the conditions of Ukraine with proper mulching.
