Japanese Azalea 'Rosinetta' — this is one of the most impressive cultivars, renowned for its densely double flowers that resemble miniature roses.

Key characteristics:

  • Flowers: Large, double, a soft pink colour with a more saturated centre. The flower shape strongly resembles a rose rosette.
  • Flowering: Very profuse, falling in the second half of May and lasting until mid-June.
  • Dimensions: A compact shrub that grows slowly. At 10 years of age it reaches 30–50 cm in height and up to 80 cm in width.
  • Foliage: Small, dark green, glossy; in autumn it may take on a crimson tint. Semi-evergreen.
  • Conditions: Requires acidic, moist soil and a sheltered, partially shaded spot.
  • Frost resistance: Withstands frosts down to -24°C, but requires mulching of the root system for winter.
