Japanese Azalea 'Schneesturm'

Japanese Azalea 'Schneesturm' — the cultivar name translates as "Snowstorm", which fully lives up to itself during flowering, when the shrub becomes dazzlingly white.

Key characteristics:

• Flowers: Large (up to 5 cm), pure white, broadly bell-shaped with a soft greenish throat.
• Flowering: The second half of May – June; exceptionally profuse.
• Dimensions: Height up to 60–80 cm, width up to 100 cm; the crown is spreading and very dense.
• Foliage: Small, dark green, glossy; semi-evergreen.
• Conditions: Requires acidic soil, partial shade and protection from strong winds.
• Frost resistance: High (down to -24°C); it overwinters well under a layer of snow.
