Hybrid Firethorn 'Soleil d'Or' (Pyracantha 'Soleil d'Or')

Firethorn 'Soleil d'Or' is an evergreen, multi-stemmed shrub valued for its bright appearance throughout the year. It is one of the hardiest cultivars, ideally suited for creating hedges or for solitary plantings.

Appearance: A dense shrub with a spreading crown and strong, thorny branches.

Height: A mature plant reaches 2–3 metres in height and up to 2 metres in width.

Leaves: Small, lanceolate, dark green in colour, leathery to the touch. They remain on the branches even in winter.

Flowering: In May–June the shrub is abundantly covered with small white flowers, gathered into corymb-like inflorescences. It has a pleasant fragrance.

Fruit: The main feature of the cultivar — numerous bright yellow or lemon-coloured berries, which ripen in September and stay on the bush until the frosts.
