Japanese Red Pine 'Ogon'

Japanese Red Pine 'Ogon' (Pinus 'Ogon') — one of the most striking pine cultivars, prized for its bright, almost "neon" colour.

Key characteristics

• Colour: The main feature is the long foliage, which has a rich bright yellow or golden colour. In winter the colouring becomes even more intense.
• Crown shape: At a young age the crown is usually irregular or broadly pyramidal; over time it becomes more spreading and picturesque.
• Growth rate: Belongs to the medium-growing cultivars. The annual growth is approximately 15–20 cm. At 10 years of age it can reach a height of 2–2.5 m.
