Description✦
Japanese Spiraea 'Nana' (Dwarf) is one of the most miniature and neat cultivars, a true gem for small spaces.
Highlights and conditions:
- Appearance: A dwarf bush just 30–40 cm tall. It has a very dense, ground-hugging globe-shaped form.
- Flowering: In June–July it becomes covered with corymb-shaped rich pink inflorescences. Despite its small stature, it flowers incredibly abundantly.
- Foliage: Small, dark green with a bluish tint. In autumn it turns a striking orange-red.
- Light: Loves sun, but also grows well in light partial shade (the flowering will be a little more modest).
- Soil: Undemanding, but feels best on drained, moderately moist soils.
- Care: Needs minimal spring trimming (simply even out the "little ball") to maintain the perfect form.
