Hydrangea paniculata Pinky Promise

A compact and incredibly charming hydrangea with a unique tricolour flowering effect. A real find for small gardens and patios: it combines miniature size, very strong shoots and large, dense inflorescences that change colour throughout the season.

• Bush size: Compact, dwarf type. Mature height only 70-90 cm, width up to 80 cm. Rounded, dense and very tidy shape. The shoots are strong, rigid and vertical, so the plant holds its lush flower caps perfectly and does not fall apart after rain.
• Inflorescences: Large, broadly-pyramidal panicles, very dense ('packed'), consisting mostly of sterile flowers.
• Flowering and unique colour change: Abundant and long - from July to October. A dynamic gradient: flowers open dazzling white with a light pistachio shade, then quickly turn delicate pastel pink, and closer to autumn take on a deep dark pink or even light purple tone. Often all three shades appear on one inflorescence at once.
• Leaves: Dark green, dense, with slight pubescence - an ideal contrasting background for the bright pink inflorescences.
• Light: Prefers sunny areas or light partial shade. In the sun the pink shades become as juicy and bright as possible.
• Soil: Needs fertile, moderately moist, well-drained soil with a slightly acidic or acidic reaction. Dislikes liming and waterlogging at the roots.
• Frost resistance: High (zone 4, down to -30°C). Mature plants overwinter perfectly without shelter throughout Ukraine.
